2,930 Acres of Rainforest and Conservation-Friendly Development Land
The Sanctuary spans 2,930 acres of rainforest, bordered by Braulio Carrillo National Park and featuring three major rivers: Rio Patria, Rio General, and Rio Sucio. This land represents both a refuge for biodiversity and a thoughtfully planned area for development, with cleared sections allowing us to build essential infrastructure without disturbing primary forest.
Situated within Costa Rica’s Central Volcanic Range Biosphere Reserve, The Sanctuary offers expansive views of the region’s ecosystems. The land includes untouched rainforests as well as strategic cleared areas that provide opportunities for development without cutting down any forests, ensuring a balance between progress and preservation.
The Sanctuary is home to a diverse ecosystem, from dense rainforests to rivers and cleared areas that balance natural preservation with the opportunity for sustainable infrastructure. By maintaining a mix of untouched wilderness and planned spaces, we ensure that the natural beauty of The Sanctuary remains intact while allowing for eco-friendly development.
Over the course of 40 years, Don Victor Mora worked to acquire the land that is now The Sanctuary. His vision for conservation has been carried on by his sons, Alexandro and Luis Mora, along with Sergio Miranda, as they continue to protect this exceptional property and plan for its responsible development.
